
Walker Police, with the help of several other agencies, arrested an undocumented Mexico native accused of raping a minor.
Law enforcement arrested Nereo Nunez-Granadon was arrested early Thursday morning and charged him with third-degree rape, among other charges.
According to Walker Police Chief David Addison, the victim and her parents notified police that Nunez-Granadon forced the under-aged victim to have sex multiple times over the last several months.
“Through our investigation, we learned that the accused is an acquaintance of the victim and her family,” Addison explained in a news release. “Between May and October of this year, through threats, coercion and undue influence, the accused forced the victim to engage in various sexual activities with him. In addition, the accused demanded and received illicit, sexually explicit photographs from the victim.”
According to Addison, police discovered evidence to support the victim’s allegations.
Nunez-Granadon was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
Other charges he faces include sexual battery, indecent behavior with a juvenile, computer-aided solicitation of a minor and pornography involving a juvenile, all of which are felony charges.
Officials say Nunez-Granadon is being held on a detainer by federal authorities, pending the disposition of the state charges.
