Walker police captain arrested for domestic abuse battery

A captain with the Walker Police Dept. is on leave after he was arrested for domestic abuse battery.

Early Sunday morning, Jan. 23rd around 3am, deputies with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a home for a domestic disturbance.

Chris Dufour, 50, was arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Prison on one count of domestic abuse battery. Sources say Dufour allegedly beat his wife.

He has since bonded out on a $10,000 bond.

Dufour is a captain with the Walker Police Department.

“It’s not going to be tolerated in my department,” said Walker Police Chief David Addison.

Chief Addison said pending the outcome of the investigation, Dufour has been placed on unpaid leave.
