WALKER — One of the roundabouts in Walker is currently shut down after a trash truck flipped.
It happened around 10:15 a.m. in the south roundabout, specifically that’s the one if drivers are coming off of I-12 eastbound, closest to the Chevron gas station and the OLOL Hospital.
Multiple trucks have flipped in the roundabout in the past. This truck flipped and officials say there is trash in the middle of the roundabout. It’s why the roadway is currently shut down with drivers forced to take an alternate route. Drivers will not be able to make the I-12 overpass at the Walker exit.
There is nothing hazardous that is leaking out of the truck or fell out of the truck. The driver of the truck was not injured.
It’s unclear how long the closure will last. UWK will update the article when the roundabout opens.
