One arrested, ‘several homes’ damaged in Walker shootout

WALKER, La. — One man was arrested after a shootout in a Walker neighborhood Tuesday, the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reports.

Sheriff Jason Ard says Devin Green, 27, was arrested after the shooting around 3 a.m. February 7.

Investigators say that Green fired shots at a home on Lily Ave. The homeowner was asleep, and an acquaintance noticed a “suspicious & slow-moving vehicle” before the shots, LPSO said.

The acquaintance returned fire, and Green drove away and headed toward Hwy. 447.

“Once on Hwy. 447, shots between the two are again exchanged,” LPSO said. “Green then parks his vehicle in The Meadows subdivision & attempts to flee on foot.”

Green was arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center. Ard said no one was injured in any of the shootings, but “several homes suffered damage” in the shootout.

The investigation is ongoing, Ard said.
