After a major water line ruptured early this morning in Maringouin, officials spent most of the day trying to fix it.
As of 7pm, officials reported they have been able to put a temporary band-aid on the problem to restore water.
The line is on Hwy. 977 near Jackson Ave. and provides water to most of Maringouin.
A company came in to assist with the water line. Thanks to the temporary fix, water pressure will be low through the night. It’s why consumers are asked to conserve their water usage.
The company will return Thursday morning to complete the job at which time, Maringouin will be out of water again as crews work on the line to restore full pressure to the water line.
It’s unclear at this time what led to the water line rupturing, possibly the recent cold weather.
Thank Goodness!
