It was around 8 p.m. on Thursday on Jan. 5th when Livingston Parish deputies responded to a theft.
Officials said it was in regards to nearly $1,000 worth of groceries stolen from the Walmart in Watson in Livingston Parish.
Deputies were alerted as the two suspects were loading the groceries into their vehicle. However, that’s when the vehicle took off.
Numerous witnesses said they saw deputies pursuing the suspect vehicle in the Walmart parking lot before the driver took off towards a dead end road where deputies were able to arrest the passenger.
Nico Walker, 26, was arrested and charged with theft, resisting an officer, possession of schedule 1 & 2 drugs.
The driver has been identified and deputies are actively searching for the driver.
Meanwhile, officials said all the stolen goods were recovered.
