WATSON —- Livingston Parish Sheriff’s deputies have completed searching Live Oak Middle School after a potential bomb threat was called in. The call came in around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20th.
The “all clear” came around 8:30 a.m. after nothing was found on campus. Students are now in the process of returning to campus.
Law enforcement professionals responding to a potential threat at Live Oak Middle School have completed their sweep of the campus and declared the campus safe for students and employees to enter.
Livingston Parish Public Schools was made aware of a potential threat early this morning and contacted law enforcement to investigate. No traffic was allowed on the campus during the investigation.
Livingston Parish Public Schools would like to thank law enforcement for its quick response and to parents, students and employees for their patience during the safety protocol process.

After the alleged threat was called in, all the students were taken to a staging area at LOHS until officials learned more. School officials reported that all the students were safe.
Buses were rerouted to other schools and all children have been accounted for, according to officials.
LPSO’s schools first statement regarding the incident :
Livingston Parish Public Schools and the Live Oak Middle administration are aware of a potential threat to the campus.
Although we do not believe it is a credible threat, we are working with law enforcement to complete an investigation of the campus.
In response, multiple law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the matter. As a result of the ongoing investigation, no evidence of a credible threat at the school has been confirmed at this time.
However, out of an abundance of caution, the Live Oak Middle campus and the South Live Oak Elementary campus may experience a slight delay in allowing students to enter campus.
Visitors are not allowed on campus at this time.
As updates are available we will notify the public.
