WEST BATON ROUGE — A 3-year-old girl has been rushed to a hospital after she had been reported missing and was found in a neighbor’s pool.
It was around 4 p.m. on July 2 when West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Willow Glen area of Port Allen looking for Jacie Lee, an autistic, non-verbal little girl. Deputies say the little girl’s family was inside the home and the toddler somehow got out and into the garage.
While searching, deputies found the little girl in a neighbor’s pool. It’s unclear how long she had been in the pool, but deputies added it was “an extended period of time.” She has been rushed to a hospital, but did not survive.
No further details have been released currently, including whether any charges will be pressed. For now, officials are calling it an accidental drowning.
