West Baton Rouge: Bank teller accused of stealing thousands from customer’s account

BRUSLY — Police have arrested a bank teller accused of stealing from a customer’s cash deposits, police records show.

Brasia Davis, 31, was booked with one count of felony theft.

She is accused of stealing $8,400 from an account at the B1 Bank branch where she worked, police say. Police urged anyone who uses that bank to examine their records to make sure their deposits are correct.

The investigation began in mid-August 2026 when a customer complained to the bank about her accounts not being credited for the proper amounts of cash being deposited, Davis’ arrest warrant said.

Bank surveillance identified five instances where Davis allegedly “conducted cash withdrawals” with no customer present, the warrant said.

Police said that Davis acknowledged the theft, saying she was having financial difficulties and planned to repay the money, the warrant said. Brusly PD added she has since repaid the money back to the bank and customer.
