PORT ALLEN —- A deadly crash on La 1 in West Baton Rouge Parish has left a 34-year-old woman dead.
It was around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 28th when West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s deputies and State Police responded to the crash on La 1 northbound.
UWK has learned 34-year-old Tyesha Banford from Ethel, died in the head-on crash. Another person involved in the crash was rushed to a hospital in serious condition.
Both Banford and the driver of the other vehicle were unrestrained at the time of the crash. Impairment is suspected to be a contributing factor, and routine toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
Louisiana State Police is the lead investigating agency on the crash.
La 1 northbound has now reopened.
