PORT ALLEN — A man has turned himself in after initially fleeing the West Baton Rouge courthouse earlier today, a West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s spokesman confirmed. The man was recently released from federal prison and ran out of the courthouse after he was told he would be arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Jasen Webb, 45, was released from federal custody in May and was in court Monday. When he learned that he was going to be arrested on a 2024 warrant, Webb ran out of the building and got away, per the WBRSO spokesman.
Webb turned himself in after 4 p.m. on Monday, the agency confirmed.
The outstanding arrest warrant was for possession of heroin, possession of fentanyl, possession of schedule II drugs and possession of contraband. Webb faces an initial charge of resisting an officer after his flight from the courthouse.
