ZACHARY — Zachary Police said Tuesday that their search of a home where Thomas Morris once lived did yield some items relevant to an ongoing investigation of two missing women.
Police said last week that the search of a house on Ash Street did not turn up any evidence connected to Madison Allen and Stephanie Hevia. Morris is a “person of interest” in their disappearances. Allen vanished in 2023 and Hevia in 2025.
On Tuesday, Zachary Police issued a release that said, after a multi-day search “several items were found that are currently being investigated in conjunction with the missing persons cases of Madison Allen and Stephanie Hevia.”
It did not detail the type of items or why they might be relevant to the search for the missing women. It did say police would not provide any additional information because the investigations are ongoing.
West Feliciana Sheriff Brian Spillman previously said his staff found “articles” that help them continue their investigation in their week-long search of a 15-acre rural Morris family property there.
WEST FELICIANA — It’s been exactly one week since more than a dozen state and federal agencies came together to begin searching the family property of Thomas Morris, the man who is considered a person of interest in the disappearance of two women.
Investigators haven’t found any human remains, Sheriff Brian Spillman said Friday, but they have found evidence that helps them continue the investigation.
In addition to the West Feliciana search, investigators also searched a home in Zachary where Morris once lived. That search did not turn up any evidence in connection to the two missing women, Zachary PD confirmed.
The women are Madison Re’Nea Allen, who was last heard from in November 2023, and Stephanie Hevia, who disappeared in August 2025.
For eight days now, 17 agencies have searched the 15-acre property on Morris Road in West Feliciana Parish. To date, no human remains have been located on the property, however, they have collected “articles” that they believe are associated to the disappearances of the two women, the sheriff shared.
Spillman emphasized that this remains a highly active, ongoing investigation. “Although we aren’t able to provide the families with the answers they seek right now, that doesn’t mean this is over,” he said.
Anyone who knows anything about the disappearances of Madison Re’Nea Allen or Stephanie Hevia are encouraged to come forward. “For the sake of these families, we’re again seeking leads or information to help us provide them with answers,” Spillman said.
Morris was arrested on July 19 on kidnapping charges involving a different woman, who was from out of state. At the time of his arrest, Spillman said Morris was considered a person of interest in the two women’s cases. Family and friends of both women said that they were last seen with Morris before they disappeared.
“I hope that they find her and that she gets to come home. I know he did something to my child, and she’s out there. They’re gonna bring her home,” Madison Allen’s mom, Lynn Rollins, told UWK, as she tried to hold back tears.
It would mean closure for her to get her daughter’s body back, she said. “It would mean the world to me because she’d be able to rest in peace, and we would have some closure and know where she’s at.”
Stephanie Hevia’s mother, Kathy Gilardi Guidry, told UWK that her family is also anxiously awaiting updates.
“Our families’ prayers and questions are being answered. Now we continue to wait. Anxiety is high but we are still believing that our law enforcement will bring Stephanie home to us and the absolute justice deserved,” Guidry said.
