ALLEN PARISH — Louisiana State Police troopers have arrested Alison Doyle, 50, for allegedly helping a now-indicted man when it came to the property bidding process.
Doyle, a former employee at the City of Oakdale, is the wife of the Oakdale Police Chief, Chad Doyle, who was arrested on Tuesday amid a federal corruption case involving U Visas and false police reports. He was one of three police chiefs arrested in the investigation. A city marshal and businessman were also arrested.
Troopers say Alison Doyle is accused of “unethical conduct in the municipal property bidding process.”
Officials started investigating after receiving credible information that the 50-year-old was allegedly “conspiring with Chandrakant “LaLa” Patel to manipulate the bidding process for two city-owned properties.”
Patel is the man federal investigators called the brains behind the criminal conspiracy where illegal immigrants were made to appear like they were victims of armed robberies. The law enforcement officials are then accused of falsifying police reports to indicate the immigrants were victims of a crime, which would make them eligible to apply for a U Visa to stay in the United States to help police and the court system help prosecute their cases.
“Investigators conducted a thorough review and found sufficient evidence to substantiate the allegations,” troopers said in a news release, but did not specify what the evidence is.
Alison Doyle was arrested and charged with two counts of malfeasance in office (felony) and booked into the Allen Parish jail.
