Woman arrested, accused of injuring another woman with vehicle

Courtney Reeann Barber, 28, of Plaquemine, LA was arrested on felony charges from a disturbance on Christmas afternoon at a home in the 2000 block of LA70.

Deputies were dispatched to the area in reference to someone having been hit by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with a female who had sustained minor injuries. Deputies determined that Barber and a man at the LA 70 address had gotten into an argument. At some point, the victim attempted to intervene in order to stabilize the situation.

Barber was the driver of the suspect vehicle and at some point, during the incident, officials said Barber hit the female victim with her vehicle. Barber is then accused of leaving the scene but was caught a short time later in Iberville Parish.

Barber was transported to Assumption Parish and charged with aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon. Barber was released on a $20,000 bond.
