A 39-yr-old from Darrow was killed in Ascension Parish in a head-on crash.
Louisiana State Police arrested the driver of the other vehicle and charged her with negligent homicide and additional charges.
Brandi Hall, 39, was in a 2020 Chevy Equinox headed southbound on US 61 near S. Purpera Ave. on Dec. 26th around 3:30pm.
That’s when troopers say Jennie Alexander was headed the opposite direction on US 61 in a 2008 Nissan Frontier.
It’s unclear why Alexander went off the roadway to the right and got back on the road but then crossed over the median into oncoming traffic and crashed into Hall’s vehicle head-on.
Hall was the front passenger in the Equinox and was not buckled at the time of the crash. Hall died on the scene.
Alexander was properly buckled and transported to local hospital with minor injuries. Impairment is unclear at this time but a toxicology sample was taken from Alexander and the driver of the Equinox.
Alexander was arrested and charged with negligent homicide, negligent injuring and careless operation.
The driver of the Equinox was not properly restrained and was transported to a local hospital to be treated for moderate injuries. There was also a juvenile in the back of the Equinox who was properly restrained and transported to a local hospital to be evaluated.
