Kim Horn Lalumia, of Denham Springs, was arrested on May 18, 2022 and charged with four counts of theft – shoplifting. She’s accused of stealing nearly $850 worth of merchandise and this is not her first arrest for theft. In fact, she’s charged with her third offense for theft, making the most recent arrest, a felony.
The alleged thefts all happened in Denham Springs and two were at Juban Crossing.

Unfiltered with Kiran learned that an off-duty Baton Rouge Police Officer noticed Lalumia at the Academy at Juban Crossing take several clothes off a women’s rack. That was on Wednesday, May 18th around 12:45pm. The officer then witnessed Lalumia allegedly walk out of the store without paying for merchandise stuffed in a bag.
The officer followed Lalumia to her next stop, Petsmart in Juban Crossing. Lalumia is said to have emptied her bag with the Academy products in her car before walking into the Petsmart with the same bag, now empty.
Lalumia allegedly stole nine pieces of clothing from the Academy for a total of $244. She’s also accused of taking 26 items from the Petsmart without paying for a total of $300.
The off-duty officer called Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, who responded immediately and arrested Lalumia as she walked out of Petsmart.
After her arrest, LPSO deputies also linked Lalumia to two more theft cases on the same date of May 18th, one at the Sam’s Club & another at a Walgreens on Hwy. 16 in Denham Springs.
Officials said Lalumia allegedly stole $53 worth of items from the Walgreens including a hat and some food. She’s also accused of walking out of the Sam’s Club with a computer scanner and other items totaling nearly $240.
That’s four thefts in one day for a total of $850. A theft below $1,000 is usually considered a misdemeanor, but because Lalumia was arrested twice before for theft, her third offense theft is considered a felony.
Her bond was set at $40,000.
