SLIDELL — A pre-dawn home invasion in Slidell ended with a violent stabbing and the arrest of a 35-year-old man, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say the attack happened just after 4 a.m. on September 9 on Cousin Street. A 911 caller reported that a woman was being beaten and stabbed inside her home.
The caller told dispatchers he and a woman were inside the home when a man, later identified as Kenneth Lyons, forced his way inside. Lyons allegedly attacked the woman, grabbed a knife, and stabbed her multiple times. The caller managed to escape and alert police.
Deputies arrested Lyons, 35, shortly after and booked him in the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on several chages, including attempted murder, home invasion, and aggravated battery. The aggravated battery charge stems from a previous, unreported incident involving the same woman, deputies said.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and later released.
