Woman’s body found wrapped up in Livingston Parish

LIVINGSTON — Authorities confirm that a woman’s body was found in Livingston Parish Thursday morning.

The body was found on a gravel roadway at a hunting lease located just off of Hwy. 63 around 10 a.m. on Oct. 19.

Walker Police say the woman’s body was found wrapped in a shower curtain and “foul play is absolutely suspected.”

The discovery comes after Walker Police have been searching several areas in Ascension Parish, LaPlace and Livingston Parish for a missing Walker woman, Sarah Santini, for the last several days. Santini, 60, was last heard from on Oct. 3 and her car was found at the Walmart in LaPlace, but she was not in it.

It’s unclear at this time if this woman’s body found Thursday is Santini. Officials said the crime lab will be at the scene, and they may be able to determine the identity, depending on the condition of the body. It’s unknown at this time how long the body has been there.

Walker Police officers are on the scene as well as the coroner’s office.

As soon as more details are released, including the woman’s name, the article will be updated.
