Work underway on traffic signals throughout EBR Parish may lead to intermittent flashing

EAST BATON ROUGE —- Starting on Monday, March 3rd, East Baton Rouge Parish crews are updating firmware at the traffic signals that malfunctioned on Friday.

On Feb. 28, there was a widespread traffic system malfunction that left nearly 100 traffic signals in flash mode across East Baton Rouge Parish.

It’s why as of Monday morning, crews are updating the firmware. During the process, some signals will be in flash-mode for less than 10 minutes.

However, a technician will be on site the entire time to limit the time lights are flashing. The work is expected to last all week and will impact lights throughout East Baton Rouge Parish.
