Wreck involving vehicle & school bus leaves one dead

At least one person has died on the way to work and eight children from a school bus were transported with minor injuries.

It happened after a wreck involving a vehicle and school bus around 6:30am on Wednesday morning on Florida & Wooddale Blvds.

In total, 10 children were on the school bus and on the way to Baton Rouge Magnet High.

Officials say the driver of a Camry, Cindy Anderson, 50, failed to stop at a stop sign on Fernwood Dr. She then crashed into the side of the school bus rolling the bus on its side.

Anderson died on the scene.

Eight students and the bus drivers were transported to hospitals for minor injuries.
