Young man shot dozens of times as he walked out of store

BATON ROUGE, La. — As fans for LSU baseball & basketball were out to support their team, many drove past police cars and crime scene tape on their way to and from campus for the home games questioning what happened.

It was a shooting with dozens of rounds fired off killing a young man, Jeffery Doutrive.

It was just after 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, when the 22-yr-old was inside the Save More on Nicholson Dr. As he was walking out, three men opened fire on him hitting the victim dozens of times.

The young man was transported to a hospital in critical condition but died at the hospital.

His death makes 28 homicides in Baton Rouge. That is exactly double the amount of homicides last year at this time.
