Multiple first responders are at a home in Zachary in East Baton Rouge Parish where a vehicle went through the roof of a home.
Officials say it happened around 6pm at Rita and Newell streets when a driver somehow ended up in someone’s roof in her vehicle.
Officials said the driver was alone in the vehicle. She was removed out of the car and transported to an area hospital via AirMed. Her current condition is unknown.
As of now, it’s believed medical conditions led up to the driver hitting a tree and somehow launching in the air and landing in someone’s roof.
“In my 34 years of law enforcement, I’ve never seen anything like this,” said Zachary Police Chief David McDavid.
As of now, no other injuries have been reported.
Crews did spend time searching for passengers when the wreck initially.
