ZACHARY — A gun accidentally discharged inside a T.J. Maxx store on Monday afternoon, Zachary police confirmed to UWK.
The incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. at the store on Main St. near Old Weis Rd. Witnesses reported hearing an “intense pop,” and the Zachary Police Department confirmed that a gun had accidentally discharged.
While no one was injured, the gunshot caused a significant scare for shoppers. Photos shared on social media showed a large police presence at the store, with crime scene tape surrounding the area. Witnesses said the store was closed as police conducted their investigation.
