Zachary PD arrests two after weeks-long drug investigation

ZACHARY– Zachary Police announced two arrests made following a weeks-long drug investigation.

Officials say Zachary detectives received information and tips of the distribution of large amounts of drugs within the Zachary, Baker and Baton Rouge areas.

After obtaining search warrants for residences in Zachary, Baker, and Baton Rouge, authorities arrested Jacien Belezaire and Trevaughn Parker.

“We are committed to keeping our community safe from all types of criminal activity,” said Zachary Police Chief Darryl Lawrence Sr. “With the increase in drug trafficking and distribution in East Baton Rouge Parish, our officers and detectives are vigilant in ensuring we investigate and make swift arrests to remove drugs from our city. Thank you to our detectives division and Baker Police Department detectives.”

Belezaire was charged with possession with intent to distribute (PWID) Schedule I, PWID schedule II, PWID schedule IV, PWID schedule V, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Parker was charged with PWID schedule I, PWID schedule V, possession of firearms with CDS, and drug paraphernalia.

Booking photos were not provided due to Act No. 494, which places restrictions on mugshots released to the media for most offenses with exceptions for certain violent crimes.
