ZACHARY —- Zachary Police officers are investigating a shooting that happened around 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1 in the Meadow View neighborhood.
A teenager was shot one time in the abdomen and now listed in stable condition, according to Zachary Police Chief Darryl Lawrence. The girl is around 16 or 17, according to Zachary Police. First responders were called to respond to Westfield Ave. off of Old Scenic Highway.
Chief Lawrence said the shooting happened near the location where the teen was found shot on Westfield Ave. Multiple shots were fired with the teen hit with one bullet. At this time, the motive of what led up to the shooting remains under investigation.
Chief Lawrence added they did question one person last night immediately following the shooting, but that person has since been released. Zachary Police said their investigation continues and further details may be limited since it is an ongoing investigation.
