ZACHARY — After a multi-week investigation, the Zachary Police Department arrested the owner of a local grocery and convenience store and seized a variety of narcotics from the store on Nov. 21.
Zachary PD had received reports of illegal narcotics being sold at the Gate City Food Mart (3840 LA Highway 19, Zachary) and began an investigation into the matter.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for the store and on Thursday, along with other agencies, executed the warrant.
Detectives located the following illegal contraband from the store:
- 11 THC “Ghost Pens” (96% THC)
- 143 Str8W8 Delta 9 THC Mix Juice
- 120 Kratom products, synthetic opioid (Outlawed by City of Zachary in 2024)
- 55 Kratom products, synthetic opioid
- 132 illegal THC products
- 139 OPMS Kratom products
- 1 box of vape pens
- 100 grams of suspected marijuana
- $3,971.13 in U.S. currency (Pending Forfeiture)
Abdulfattah Saleh, owner of the Gate City Food Mart, was arrested on the following charges:
- PWID schedule I narcotics (4 counts)
- Transactions involving narcotics proceeds
- COZ Sec 58-40 sale and/or possession of Kratom products
