Mardi Gras Guide: New parade and crowd favorites wrap up Carnival in Capital City

BATON ROUGE — Laissez les bons temps rouler! There are several Mardi Gras parades set to roll in and around Baton Rouge this year! UWK has you covered with your ultimate Mardi Gras guide.

MONDAY

Krewe of Shenandoah (Queen Kiran Chawla)   7 p.m.
Krewe of Comogo (Plaquemine)  7 p.m.

TUESDAY

Community Center of Pointe Coupee (New Roads)  11 a.m.
New Roads Lions Club Parade (New Roads)2 p.m.

FEBRUARY 12

Shenandoah Neighborhood Baton Rouge | Krewe of Shenandoah: 7 p.m.

This year, a new Mardi Gras parade will roll through Baton Rouge!

The Krewe of Shenandoah will make it’s debut on Lundi Gras. UWK’s own Kiran Chawla will serve as the inaugural Queen along with King Gordy Rush.

The parade will start and end at Woodlawn Middle School. It go up Jones Creek Blvd., turn on Shenandoah Ave., before moving up Vicksburg Dr., turn on Malvern Hill Ave., go down Antioch Blvd. while passing Shenandoah Elementary and traveling back toward Jones Creek.

Plaquemine | Krewe of Comogo: 7 p.m.

Breaking from their traditional Sunday night parade, this year the Krewe of Comogo will roll on Lundi Gras!

For the 11th year, the parade will roll down Hwy 1 and Belleview Dr. in Plaquemine.


FEBRUARY 13

New Roads | Community Center of Pointe Coupee Parade: 11 a.m.

For the 102nd year, the Community Center of Pointe Coupee will let the good times roll in downtown New Roads.

Route: The parade will line up at Rosenwald Elementary, then travel south on New Roads Street, turn right on Main Street, right on Olinde Avenue traveling north, right on Napoleon Street, left on Poydras Street traveling north, and then right on Parent Street disbanding at the intersection of Parent and New Roads Street.

New Roads | New Roads Lions Club Mardi Gras Parade: 2 p.m.

The Mardi Gras fun in New Roads doesn’t stop after the Community Center parade! The New Roads Lions Club will roll their grand parade starting at 2 p.m.

Route: The parade will line up at National Guard Amory moving south on Community Street turning right on Main Street, right on Olinde Avenue, right on Napoleon, left on Poydras, right on Parent, right on New Roads Street, left on Main Street, left on Community Street.
